Scope and general principles
We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our services. Any personal data you provide is visible only to the system administrator (Janek Gröhl) and will never be passed on to third parties without your prior consent, except where we are legally obliged to do so.
Hosting and data location
This website is hosted on servers operated by Contabo GmbH within the European Union. Your data is processed on servers located in the EU and never leaves the European Union. The hosting is carried out for the purpose of providing our service and on the basis of our legitimate interest in a secure and efficient provision of this website (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with the hosting provider.
Server log files
When you visit this website, the server automatically collects and stores technical information that your browser transmits, such as the requested page, date and time of the request, and the transferring IP address. This data is required for the technical operation and security of the service and is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.
User accounts
If you register an account, we process the data you provide (such as your name, email address, and any annotation or contribution data) for the purpose of operating your account and providing the service. The legal basis is the performance of a contract / your request (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR).
Passwords are never stored as clear text; they are stored only in a securely hashed form. Personal data associated with your account is visible only to the system administrator (Janek Gröhl).
Cookies
We use only essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the website (for example, to keep you logged in during a session). We do not use any tracking, analytics, advertising, or profiling cookies, and we do not track your activity across the site or across other websites. Because these cookies are strictly necessary, no consent is required (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR; § 25 (2) TDDDG).
No tracking
We employ no tracking of user activity whatsoever. We do not use third-party analytics services, and we do not build behavioural profiles of our users.
Data retention
We store personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described here or as required by law. When you delete your account, the associated personal data is deleted, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access to your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR);
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR);
- erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR);
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR);
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR);
- withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).
